Who qualifies for a free damp survey?
Homeowners who live in the property. Landlords, letting agents, housing providers and commercial premises are covered by our commercial damp survey service, which is priced separately. People buying a house need a pre purchase report for lenders and solicitors, which is also a paid survey.
I own a flat. Can I get a free survey?
Yes, if you own and live in the flat and the damp is inside your flat. Damp coming from communal areas, the roof or the building’s outside walls is usually the freeholder’s or managing agent’s responsibility, depending on your lease, so we survey those for them as a commercial survey.
